PE - Polyethylene

Polyethylene (PE) polymers are semi-crystalline thermoplastics with a high degree of toughness and very good chemical resistance. Compared to other plastics, polyethylene plastic usually exhibits lower mechanical strength and temperature resistance.

Individual polyethylene materials differ in terms of molecular weight, which has a direct impact on the relative physical properties of each type. The most commonly used types of PE plastics are PE-UHMW, PE-HMW and PE-HD. There are also different variants of low density types such as PE-LD and PE-LLD. The company AFINIS Group® offers extruded polyethylene rods and also pressure-cast modifications of PE in the form of rods and sheets.
